On Monday 15 July 2002, we have been obliged to take the most painful and penible decision for us : to put an end to the life of a being who gave us so much joy, success, satisfaction but above all, love, during more than 20 years.
Perfect Host, as we speak about him, was suffering from his legs, foundered during his early years, he had a lot of difficulties to move. Recently, the problem went worse. He could not stand up alone anymore and did not want to leave his box. The dolor was too intense. The vet came several times to find the wonder remedy or at least to reduce his suffering but nothing changed.
After so many rendered services and despite we were very sorry to part with him, it was our turn to do him a service and to stop his pain. We called the vet who came for the last time on Monday, in the end of the afternoon. Each member of the familly wept and paid tribute to this incredible horse that was sharing our lives for so long.
Perfect is and will probably remain, for so long, the stallion that has marked the Belgian appaloosa breeding. Who, in Belgum, does not possess the name of Perfect Host in the pedigree of one of his horses? His products have gone beyond the borders, this is why we find some of his descendants in the U.K, in France, in Italy, in the Netherlands... He also succeeded in a show career, just perfect. Only victories, among which 4 titles of Grand Champion, 2 titles of Belgian Champion Hunter under Saddle and one Get of Sire in 1997.
